Dr. Michelle GarrettMichelle Garrett
Class of 1984

What did you do immediately after graduating from ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ?

I attended Long Island University - CW Post and majored in finance.

What are you doing currently?

I have been a ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ School ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ educator for 20 years; ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ High School Assistant Principal for 14 years.

What is your favorite memory of ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ?

I graduated quite a while ago, but remained a ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ resident. I raised my children here and value the close relationships that I have cultivated over the years. One of my fondest memories was the picnic with my former classmates at our 10 year high school reunion.

Were there any ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ teachers or staff members you felt made a positive difference in your life?

Yes. My high school math teacher had a tremendous impact on my life. Mr. Michael Cohen is still a trusted mentor and friend.

How do you feel your time in ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ helped you prepare for life after ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ?

ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ provided me the opportunity for a well-rounded education that led to a life-long love of learning.

What sports or clubs were you involved with?

I was the Vice President of BSOSS now BSO and I ran track.

Is there anything else you would like to share with us about your time in ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ or your life after graduation?

I am very grateful for the doors that opened for me and for my daughters because of the education that we received in the ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ School ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ. I encourage our ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ families to remain active participants in a district that can provide all children with the opportunity to achieve success after high school.
