The students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate proper technique of asanas
  • Demonstrate proper breathing technique

Cognitive:

The students will be able to:

  • State the origin of Yoga
  • Understand the relationship between focusing, balance, and range of motion.
  • Define yoga (union of the mind and body)
  • Identify the physical, emotional, and spiritual benefits of Yoga
  • Create a vinyasa (sequence of asanas)
  • Identify levels (high, medium, low) in asanas
  • Summarize and apply an article on yoga to personal growth to increase appreciation for the benefits of Yoga

Affective:

The students will be able to:

  • Reflect on how yoga can help an individual’s needs
  • Appreciate the difference between prior knowledge of yoga and content learned in class.
  • Respect individual abilities in flexibility and balance.
