County Championship Meet

The Girls Varsity Gymnastics team finished with a tie for second place in League 1. Finishing as one of the top three teams in Suffolk County qualified the team compete in the County Championship Meet, which was held on November 5th @ East Islip H.S. ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ finished with a score of 165.025, giving the girls a third place finish. Competing in the meet that day: Co-captains Lydia Taylor and Kami Christie, Sarah Trupp, Mattea Gravina, Hayden Davidson and Sophia Asofsky. Hayden Davidson finished second on vault.

Sophomore Sarah Trupp and freshmen Mattea Gravina and Hayden Davidson qualified to compete in the Individual Championship Meet which was held on Friday, November 8th @ Babylon H.S. All three girls competed on all four events. Mattea – Finished 4th on Vault and Beam, 2nd on Floor and 3rd for all-around. Sarah – Finished 3rd on Beam. Hayden – Finished 4th on Vault. All three girls made it onto the State Team! Mattea will be competing as an all-around, Sarah will be competing on beam and floor and Hayden will be competing on vault. This competition will take place at S.U.N.Y. Brockport in Rochester on March 1st, 2013.

Congratulations girls!!! This is quite an accomplishment!

ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ defeated Kings Park

Sarah Trupp won the all-around (36.675) to lead ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ (4-1) in League I. ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ set a school record with a score 171.975, according to head coach Robin Thomas-Harper. The previous record, set in 2010, was 169.05, Thomas-Harper said.

ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ defeated Half Hollow Hills

Mattea Parvina won the bars (8.65), the balance beam (9.5), the floor (9.55) and the all-around (36.5) and Sarah Trupp won the vault (9.0) and to lead ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ (2-1) in League I.

ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ defeated Babylon

Mattea Gravina won the bars (9.1) and the floor exercise (9.2) and the all-around (35.75) to lead ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ (1-0) in its League I win. Sarah Trupp took first place on the balance beam (9.15). Kayla McCarthy won the vault (8.9) for Babylon (0-1).

ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ defeated Hampton Bays

Hampton Bays 118.95: Sarah Crupp won the vault (8.4) and the bars (8.7) and Mattea Gravina and Hayden Davidson finished tied for first on the balance beam (8.85) to lead ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ (2-0) in non-league. Gravina won the floor (9.2) and the all-around (34.8.
