Crew Team - NYS Scholastic Championships

What a wonderful May weekend it was to be a ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Marauder on the water! The crew team traveled to Saratoga to compete in the New York State Scholastic Championships! On Saturday morning, May 11th, all of the girls and boys boats flew through time trials and advanced onto their semi-finals, a first in ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ history! On Saturday afternoon both the novice girl’s and boy’s eights competed in the grand finals. The Novice Boy’s Eight earning Bronze in their grand final and the Novice Girl’s Eight had an impressive race winning gold and the title of State Champions!

On Sunday morning the varsity boats battled fast crews in their respective finals. The Boy’s Varsity 4 placed 2nd, Girls Varsity 4 placed 3rd, and the Boy’s Varsity Lightweight 8 placed 4th. The ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ Crew Team is a spring only sport and they competed against schools that practice and race during the fall, winter, and spring seasons. Considering our team only starts practice in March are victories really show the rowers dedication and hard work!

1st Place Novice Girl’s 8 -State Champions: Emily Dunn, Isabella Danzi, Kayla Corsini, Sarah Giuliani, Elisabeth Yack, Morgan Zuch, Alexandra Russo, Megan Farnan, and Coxswain Lianna Procida

3rd Place Girl’s Senior 4: Marilyn Mott (Captain), Brittany Quirino (Captain), Michelle Esposito (Captain), Catherine Darcy, and Coxswain Arianna Wendt (Captain).

11th Girl’s Junior 8: Miranda Hogan, Katie Kennedy, Nicole Velleca, Jessica Brewer, Farrah Leone, Mary Posillico, Angie Grijalva, Tess George, and Madison Flotteron.
