Congratulations to the following members of the Varsity Boys Track Team for earning "All League" honors:

Malik Hinds, Bradley Pierre, Michael Schmidt, Andrew Nelson, Jeff Reyes, Emmet Farnan, and Cordell Nix

Farnan also earned "All County Academic" honors for the third straight season. Special congratulations to Cordell Nix, who in his first season of track and field, earned "All County" honors and will represent ÃÛèÖÊÓƵ and Section XI in the New York State Track and Field Championships next week at Middle town High School. Nix will compete in the Pentathlon, a combination of 5 separate events: the 110 Meter Hurdles, the High Jump, the Shot Put, the Long Jump and the 1500 Meter Run.

The Varsity Boys Track team began their league season on Friday, March 22, 2013 with a 76-62 victory over Ward Melville. The Marauders enjoyed a real team effort with points being scored not only on the track, but in the field events as well. Senior Emmet Farnan took the 800 Meter Run and was on the winning 4x400 Meter Relay, along with Rich Arcuri, Furious Jackson and Jeffery Reyes. Sophomore Malik Hinds took the 110 Meter High Hurdles, as well as, the Long Jump. Fellow sophomores Bradley Pierre and Eromosare Aghomon went 1-2 in the Triple Jump. Senior Andrew Nelson took the Shot Put and the Discus. Senior Adnan Shakeel was victorious in the Pole Vault. The home team iced the victory when Seniors Matthias Eato and Cordell Nix teamed up with Pierre and Hinds to win the 4x100 Meter Relay.

The team continued their hot streak at the Amityville Invitational on Saturday, March 23, 2013. More then 35 medals were taken home by the Marauders. Some of the highlights included Emmet Farnan medaling in the 400 Meter Intermediate Hurdles. Bradley Pierre, Malik Hinds, and James Comilang in the 100 Meter Dash. The weightmen had a fine showing with medals being taken home by Andrew Nelson, John Mirabito, Jeremy Hagen, Carlos Mendez, Brennan Souhrada, Anthony Sblendorio, and Elijah Lowry.

The Boys Track Team lost a close battle to Connetquot in a League II matchup 73-68 Wednesday, April 3rd. The Marauders had some outstanding performances as they swept the high jump behind Matthias Eato's leap of 5'10" in the windy conditions. Emmet Farnan remained undefeated in the 800 meter run. Kareem Roberts was a double winner in the 110 and 400 meter hurdles. Senior Rich Arcuri won the 400 meter dash and Freshman Jeffery Reyes took the 3200 meter run and a silver medal in the 1600 meter run.

The Boys Varsity Track Team ran it's League II record to 2 - 1, with a 82-59 victory over Lindenhurst on Tuesday, April 9th. The Marauders were led by triple winner Kareem Roberts, who took both the 110 Meter High Hurdles and 400 Meter Intermediate Hurdles as well as the High Jump. Matthias Eato took gold in the 100 Meter and 200 Meter Dashes. Malik Hinds and Bradley Pierre dominated the Long and Triple Jumps. Senior Andrew Nelson was a double winner in the Shot Put and Discus. The team next travels to Mount Sinai High School for the Suffolk Officials Invitational this week end.

Varsity Boys Track - 26th Annual Red Raider's Relays

The Boy's Track Team enjoyed a very successful weekend at the 26th annual Red Raider's Relays held over the course of 2 days at North Rockland High School. Individual honors went to Kareem Roberts, who took a gold medal in the 110 Meter High Hurdles, and 2 silver medals in the High Jump and 400 Meter Intermediate Hurdles respectively. Emmet Farnan medalled in the 400 Meter Hurdles as well after posting a season best in the 1600 Meter Run of 4:31.19. Andrew Nelson took home a medal in the Discus throw with a toss of 133 feet and 9 inches. Sophomores Bradley Pierre and Malik Hinds were each crowned champions in the Frosh/Soph Triple Jump and Long Jump respectively. Eighth grader Oliver Hendricks took home an individual medal in the Frosh/Soph Pole Vault.

In the most grueling event of the meet, the Pentathlon, a competition that includes the 5 separate events of the Long Jump, High Jump 110 Meter High Hurdles, the Shot Put and the 1500 Meter Run, Cordell Nix took the fourth place medal in his first time ever attempting the event!

The Marauders continued to add to their medal count in the second day's relays competition with a silver medal finish in the Varsity 4x800 Meter Relay. The team of Farnan, Jeffrey Reyes, Luciano Fiore, and Rich Arcuri recorded a season's best time of 8:25.42. The silver medal performance was repeated by the Frosh/Soph Distance Medley Relay team of Bradley Pierre, Malik Hinds, Noah Craig and Jeffrey Reyes.

State Track and Field Championships

The Boys Track Team traveled to upstate Middletown, site of this year's State Track and Field Championships, to compete in the Middletown Invitational. Despite pouring rain for most of the day, the Marauders came away with a bundle of medals. Junior Cordell Nix led the medal onslaught garnering 4 himself. He raced a season best 15.85 in the 110 Meter High Hurdles, leaped 20'6" in the Long Jump, and scored in the Triple and High Jumps as well. Sophomore Malik Hinds took the gold in the Frosh/Soph Long Jump and 4th place in the Varsity 110 Meter High Hurdles with a personal best time of 15.84. Not to be outdone, fellow sophomore Bradley Pierre took the silver in the Frosh/Soph Long Jump, then came back to do the same in the Varsity Triple Jump, with a distance of 41' 11" on his last attempt. Senior Andrew Nelson added to the Marauder tally with bronze medal in the Discus, with a toss of 141' 7". The distance runners combined some season best performances of their own, with Jeffrey Reyes, Rich Arcuri, Luciano Fiore, and Emmet Farnan combining for a silver medal finish in the 4x1600 meter relay. The afternoon finished with the 4x800 meter relay team of Tom and Will Fullerton, Mike West and John Moran taking home some more "hardware" for their 6th place finish. Next up for the Marauders is the Frosh/Soph Championships on Wednesday, May 15th and then a trip to Schenectady, for the Eddy Games, New York's oldest Track and Field invitational.
